So to give you a bit of an idea.... just here in the Southeast.... there were 111 Vimy casualties. Not many communities were left untouched by this battle 104 years ago (1917 to 2021).

830433 Private Arthur Edward Chrismas (44th Battalion, New Brunswick Regiment) killed in action 12 April.

81564 Private William Milne Mathewson (10th Battalion, Alberta Regiment) killed in action 9 April.

148442 Private Edward Pickering (78th Battalion, Manitoba Regiment) killed in action 9 April.

925819 Corporal Ernest Riley Richardson (46th Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment) killed in action 13 April.

Arcola and Kisbey Vimy Casualties:

925559 Private Barclay James Albert Osborne (102nd Battalion, Central Ontario Regiment) from Kisbey, SK and

426777 Private William Joseph Rogers (10th Battalion, Alberta Regiment) from Arcola, SK were both killed on the 9th of April 1917 at Vimy.

925483 Private Alexander King (5th Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment) of Arcola, SK. was killed on the 10th of April at Vimy and

718478 Private Samuel Montgomery Linder (44th Battalion, New Brunswick Regiment) of Arcola, SK was killed on the 12th of April.

907446 Private Floyd Lester Northrup (102nd Battalion, Central Ontario Regiment) was killed in action on April 9th.

907194 Private Henry Sawyer (102nd Battalion, Central Ontario Regiment) died of his wounds received at Vimy Ridge on April 15th.

From the town of Redvers:

426817 Private Clifford Arthur Honeyman (28th Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment) died of wounds sustained during the preparations for Vimy Ridge on April 10th.

925946 Private George Miller (5th Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment) died 10 April of wounds sustained at Vimy Ridge.

925439 Private John Murdock McLeod (5th Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment) died on the 15th of April of wounds sustained at Vimy Ridge.

925521 Private Frank Rowe (5th Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment) was killed in action on the 9th of April.

925248 Private Alexander Brick (5th Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment) of Tribune, SK. died on the 12th of April of wounds sustained at Vimy Ridge.

925696 Private John Thompson Anderson of Bromhead, SK. (5th Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment) died on the 11th of April of gunshot wounds to the right side sustained three weeks earlier.

The men of the Carievale area who fell at Vimy:

925960 Private Ernest James Furze (5th Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment) killed in action 9 April.

925937 Private William George Palmer (5th Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment) died on the 12th of April of wounds sustained at Vimy Ridge.
